Giddy about worm poo

I'm the luckiest girl in the world. For Valentine's Day I not only got beautiful tulips AND dark, dark chocolate AND a very sweet card, but I also got something I'll bet few of you received from your sweeties.

Not one but TWO buckets of worm poo!!!  Wing Nut scored the motherload when the nursery decided to clean their worm bins right before the most romantic day of the year. Yessiree, Wing Nut sure does know how to treat a girl.

That made me smile! You were obviously in her thoughts when she saw them cleaning out the worm bins (lol).

I know Meg would have loved getting worm poo. When she moved here, besides all her stuff we brought over 8 huge tubs of compost.

Dang I want to get worm poo for Valentine's Day.

Awwwwww. . . .

Worm poo or chocolate, not sure which one is better. Depends on what mood I'm in... And you got both for Valentines Day. Lucky Girl!

Okay, that is a great present! Your plants will be happy too! Last year I made a bin for some worms, but I have yet to put my little farm together. I'm glad to because with our weird and very cold winter we had, it was hard enough worrying about Peetree (Anna's Hummingbird)! Maybe this year I'll go get the worms and put them to work ;)

How sweet :) I don't know why they always push jewelry when what we really want is something for our gardens!

Please have Wing Nut speak my dear spouse.

RantWoman laughed for 10 minutes about the title alone. Glad WingNut is at her romantic best. The two buckets really do look sweet side-by-side like that.

And I'm so glad she was thinking of me, Easygardener! I read somewhere that worm poo is called "black gold"

Randy, your Meg sounds like she's got her priorities right! Good compost is hard to come by.

Daphne, it was definitely the best gift I've gotten for Valentine's Day.

I know Mr. Subjunctive. Doesn't it just melt your heart?

Yes I am Michelle. And the dark, dark chocolate was amazing too.

Dirtdigger we too have been toying with the idea of a worm bin. Like you. we're glad we postponed given the winter we've had. Maybe this year we'll get to it.

Exactly Catherine! It's not like you can wear any of that jewelry while you're out digging in the garden!

LOL Gardeness!

Hey RantWoman! Can't recall the last time I was so excited over a gift. Apparently cleaning out the worm bins is not something that happens all that frequently at the nursery. So the timing really was perfect. Oh the things I will do, with all of that worm poo!!!

Fantastic stuff, but be careful it sure is strong and needs to be well diluted in water before use! Really looking forward to joining the sagbutt gang - What a lovely thought to offer the services of your dog to a lonely, dogless traveller! If you are able, I would look forward to a pat and a lick!

Yay! Worm poo! I'd be excited, too! I am looking at my garden asking what I need to "add" to the vege garden noticing I'm not asking myself what I need to "add" to the bindweed, arum italicum, ivy and everything else that does just fine without! Strange, huh? :)

That's a very sweet gift, Curmudgeon - and it was given to just the right person! I'd have been thrilled, too. (and the dark chocolate makes it perfect)

How lucky can a girl get? You are positively spoiled, Curmudgeon!
Lucky you :)
Enjoy that worm poo!

Truly romantic:) Manly Man built me a worm bin one year for mother's day.

I figured WN for a hopeless romantic the first time I met her. You are a lucky woman! Worm poop. sigh.

Now THAT is a thoughtful gift. Kudos to WN.

Will do Matron. I just keep looking out the window at the buckets of worm poo and daydreaming about how to use it. I'll pencil you in for a pat and a lick with Diva Dog!

I know Kathryn. Bind weed, GRRRR. Ivy, GRRRR. And don't get me started on the sad and pathetic state of our lawn. Sigh

Hi Annie! Yes, my Wing Nut is very sweet and thoughful.

I am most definitely spoiled, Kerri! I will put that worm poo to good use.

That is an awesome Mother's Day gift Aunt Debbi! We've been thinking about a worm bin. Hmmm, maybe for my b-day.

You figured right Molly. I agree, I am a lucky woman.

I agree Grace. I can't think of a more thoughful gift.

Wing Nut saw poo and thought of you? And then they say that romance is dead. ;-)

Thanks for a fun filled post.

Curmudgeon said...

Romance is most certainly not dead at our house, Yolanda! LOL!

RantWoman said...

Perhaps it's a good thing you keep calling it worm poo. If WingNut called it "worm castings" someone would have to sell it for a pretentious price to keep up with the pretentious terminology..... Which term is more romantic?

What a thoughtful gift! Worm poo is the perfect all-occasion gift for a gardener. It might even deserve a holiday all it's own. (Hallmark, are you listening?)

A rose by any other name, RantWoman.

National worm poo day! I love it Garden Girl.

Now this one had me laughing out loud and the comments too. It's a great gift and Catherine you are right - why do they push jewelry? Stuff for the garden is much better. I got a rototiller one year (I asked for it) for my birthday and was sooooooo happy!
Yes, you are one lucky girl - worm poo and chocolate!

Right, if it wasn't for your enthusiasm and elation I would have sent you straight to detention and your paramour to the be sectioned :-). Love does do wonderful deeds. Lovely post and one that brought a wide smile to my face.

Greetings from London.

Curmudgeon said...

A rototiller! That is an awesome gift Raingardener.

I'm STILL giddy over it, Dee.

What do you mean Cuban? Doesn't everyone get giddy over worm poo? LOL! Just wait. Come August there will be luscious tomatoes, thanks to all that worm poo.

A Cuban In London said...

Ahhhh, well, I am into the whole tomatoes business. Then, yes, que venga la caca :-)!

Greetings from London.
