Love the blues! Can you talk a bit more, please, about Mystic Spires? An annual? Long flowering? It's a cutey pie. I took the spice test too funny.

Nice set of blues, WWWenches - only the lavender and salvia have much chance to make it here, but your photos make me want all of them. We can grow larkspur, but oh that delphinium!

Hi Gail. Thanks for stopping by. Here's what I know about the 'Mystic Spires' salvia.
--It's a dwarf form of 'Indigo Spries'. MS is only supposed to spread 24" x 24" whereas IS could grow up to 60"!
--It's a perennial, hardy to zone 7, that should return if it has good drainage.
--It's a sun lover but a little shade should be okay.
--Its water needs are low to medium.
--It blooms Spring-Fall and attracts butterflies.

Hi ourfriendben! I just love this ajuga. Its leaves are so dark. I was hoping for a carpet of this stuff in a shady spot. But it was not happy planted in the ground and we lost several of them. The last one was dying a slow death when I dug it up and plopped it in a pot. It recovered nicely and has been hanging out for several years in the shade garden.

Hi Annie. I keep threatening to yank out that delphinium--it inevitably comes down with powdery mildew--but those blues are to die for.
