Happy Mother's Day!

P1010267The Weed Whackin' Wenches would like to wish all mothers a very happy day today!  Please enjoy the virtual bouquets from our gardens.

P1010291

Wing Nut would also like to say a very special thank you to her mother today. This one's for you, Mom!  :-)

Recently you told me that I amaze you with my cooking and gardening abilities. You said I didn't learn these things from you. Well perhaps not exactly, but I have learned a tremendous amount from you.

Maybe you didn't teach me how to cook gourmet meals, but you taught me the basics and made sure I always had enough to eat.

Maybe you didn't teach me to garden, but you did help me see the beauty of nature and God's creation all around me.

You didn't teach me good customer service skills; you showed me how to treat people with kindness and respect.

You filled our home with laughter (and some silliness!) and taught me that laughter really is often the best medicine.

P1010293

You taught me that good friends and family are far more important than the clothes we wear or the cars we drive.

You taught me that open communication, even when the words are difficult to say, is the key to healthy, honest relationships.

P1010294

I learned all of these things from you so far. With your ongoing love and support, I hope to continue to learn and grow.

Thank you for everything, Mom.  I love you.

WHat a lovely tribute! Do you have a tissue?

I was thinking the same thing. Your Mom will probably cry reading that, I want to. It's a very touching tribute for a Mom to read. I only hope I am imparting those ideals to my daughter.

What beautiful words, decorated with such lovely flowers! Any mom would be proud to have inspired such a Mothers' Day card, WWWenches, and those are wonderful things to teach children.

What a sweet thing to do for your mom...my mom is far away, so I arrange a bouquet of gorgeous spring flowers from my yard, took a picture and emailed it to her...gives her something to look forward to when she comes to visit...

What are the flowers in the first pic? The are stunning...

Thanks everyone. I'll find out tomorrow if Mom enjoyed it too.

Jean Ann - the flowers in the first photo are fresia. We've heard some people have trouble growing them here, so we're delighted that ours are doing well.

Such a lovely tribute to your Mom Wing Nut and I'm sure she liked it. What mother wouldn't? Pass the tissues please!

Just stopped by to say hello. The Freesia is so pretty. I've only smelled it in bottles of perfume so I wonder if the flower smells as sweet? The pictures are beautiful. I spent the day without power from the storms==but my kids were close by and that made it special. The very best to you two!

Wing Nut, this is a beautiful tribute to your dear mom, and illustrated with such gorgeous posies! Your photos are wonderful! Knowing how difficult it is to get a decent photo of white flowers..especially tiny ones...I'm particularly impressed with your lily-of-the-valley shot, but they're all glorious!
I'm imaging the scent of those wonderful lilacs, and oh, are they freesias? Lucky you! Gorgeous - all the bouquets. Thank you!
