Sunday afternoon walk

Last Sunday we had a dusting of snow.

Today we have quite a bit more than a dusting. It's been snowing since yesterday. And it's not showing any signs of slowing down. On Thursday we got a couple of inches of snow and it promptly turned into a 2 inch layer of ice. Now we've added about 6 more inches on top of that. In addition, our temps are still in the 20s so it's not melting. Yikes, this is not supposed to happen in Seattle!

On our walk this afternoon we saw kids and adults using anything plastic and smooth as a sled. We also saw quite a few snowmen.

The ship canal looked eerie.

We saw one boat on the canal.

Bright berries.

Diva Dog, always on the lookout for squirrels.

Our strange Thanksgiving visitor is sporting a cape of white.

What beautiful photos! The canal looks like a Dutch painting. Are you sick of the snow yet? I'm not but I haven't tried to drive anywhere...

it sure is beautiful, Anonymous. We've been enjoying it--and so has Diva Dog.

The canal was beautiful, Jean. No driving here either. We walked down into Ballard to the postoffice yesterday. The busses were not running very regularly. Today we're both trying to make it in to work. We're thankful we do not have any holiday travel plans.

Great photos. The steep street looks like the view from the chute of a ski jump! I'm getting light-headed just looking at it.
Today I'm making a break for it and heading to the office. If I can make it out of the neighborhood, it'll be all downhill from there...oops, I mean smooth-sailing, no hills thank you.
Happy holidays,

Ski jump is right, Aerie-el! Those hilly side streets have been seeing lots of sleds! It's kind of funny to see what people come up with for a sled--laundry baskets, cookie sheets. Wing Nut made it in to work this morning. She took the bus north and said once they hit 145th the road got very lumpy and bumpy, still lots of ice and lots more snow. I'm heading out in a bit to try to make it in to my workplace. I heard "more snow" on the news. I'm kind of mising all that rain we usually get this time of year!

I've fallen for your fourth photo top to bottom. I'm a sucker for black an white nature pictures, especially, calm lakes surrounded by well-behaved trees (you know the kind that act like soldiers :-D). Thanks.

Greetings from London.

Your snow pics are glorious, but Diva Dog gets the prize. What a wonderful photo of the pretty girl!
The berries against the snow are very pretty too.
Love those snowmen on the wall :)
The 2 inches of ice underneath all that snow must've been very precarious!
The snow is lovely to look at, but......It's at it's loveliest when you don't have anywhere you have to be!
